Purchasing - Strategy

❖Contractual commitment by farmers: Westfleisch reduces the growing uncertainty of future raw material production through the contractual obligation of the farmers: ¾ of its pig deliveries are secured by the cooperative through fixed contracts - advertising is carried out with surcharges and an increased base price of 1 cent above VEZG quotation

❖100,000 boars project: This year, as part of the “100,000 boars” project, around 15,000 improvac boars from contracted companies are to be delivered to the companies Rewe and Edeka, with whom one works closely in  targeted projects. The delivery period is limited to three months, contract farms can deliver an unlimited amount of vaccinated animals here. Payment is made according to the Westfleisch standard mask minus 3 cents.

 

Marketing - Strategy

❖Animal Welfare Campaign: Defined standards of the fattening farms for species-appropriate animal husbandry with higher added value per kg of pig.

❖Premium specialty without additives: Premium marketing of the Gustoland and Westfalenland brands.The absence of additives in the production of classic sausages and the selection of particularly high-quality raw materials are supplemented by new, stylish packaging.

❖Westfleisch structure project 2025: Strengthening of the regional locations in order to better utilize their advantages and to react more flexibly to rapidly changing market conditions (positive influences on residents and the environment)
